Today, January 20, 2025, is Inauguration Day for the 47th president, Donald J. Trump, and this morning, prior to that oath-taking, President Joe Biden issued presidential pardons to those who would have been subjected to criminal investigation, prosecution, jailing, and even threatened exile for purposes of revenge by the new president and his followers:
-Gen. Mark A. Milley
-Dr. Anthony S. Fauci
-the members and staff of the Select Committee to Investigate the January 6th Attack on the United States Capitol,
-the Capitol police officers who had testified to the January 6th Committee
and
-members of the Biden family.
Although I claim no responsibility for making it happen, this is a good portion of what I advocated, for the reasons explained, in my Dallas Morning News op-ed of December 3, 2024, and I am gratified.
