The contrast of the U.K.'s monarchy and U.S. Constitution, art. 1, § 9, cl. 8.

I enjoyed watching some of the coronation of King Charles III on tv this morning. So long as the people of the United Kingdom willingly retain their monarchy, I wish him (or someday, her) and the people well.

But, in great contrast, does not the following Constitutional provision reinforce our nation's fundamental principle that ALL Americans are to be equal, regardless of his or her birth?:

"No Title of Nobility shall be granted by the United States: And no Person holding any Office of Profit or Trust under them, shall, without the Consent of the Congress, accept of any present, Emolument, Office, or Title, of any kind whatever, from any King, Prince, or foreign State."

U.S. Constitution, Article 1, Section 9, Clause 8.
